The ePub Format
The ePub format is for:

This is the most widely used ebook format. Mobile devices can read ePub files using apps, but ePubs must be converted to be read on the Kindle.
The Kindle/Mobipocket Format
The Mobipocket format is for:

The PDF Format
Short for Portable Document File, the PDF format is for:
- Any computer or mobile device equipped with the free Adobe Reader.
PDF files use the original typefaces, retaining more of the character of the print book design. Adobe Reader can also reflow and resize the text although the results can be mixed.
